Joseph Jackson unleashes the full power of the Reuter Organ in the monumental Variations on Weinen, Klagen, Zagen by Liszt and the mysterious Fantasie Choral No. 2 by Whitlock.  In contrast, many lovely solo voices are displayed corresponding to the registrational directions in the scores.  The popular Liebestraum and the delightful March Pastorale contrast effectively with the two major works.
From Choir & Organ (November/December 2002):  “The recorded sound has space and depth and Jackson’s performances are exciting.  The booklet notes provide all the information one would want....this would make a good purchase.”

From Courier-Post (July 19, 2002):  “In a superbly recorded program this DTR compact disc captures the full range of sound this magnificent organ produces.  Joseph Jackson plays with finesse and proves an effective advocate for the weighty Liszt score.”
